The Backstory
Growing up, I was always the new kid, moving place to place as a military brat. With each move I found community and inspiration making home movies with my sisters and fellow neighborhood kids. By 12, I had written and directed a two-hour pirate epic—now an embarrassing piece of blackmail, but proof that storytelling is in my DNA.
My formal filmmaking journey began at Penn State University, where I created multiple award-winning student films, solidifying my dream of becoming a film director. After graduation, I expanded my creative pursuits by working at a local art studio, teaching art classes, and honing my technical skills.
The pandemic led me to launch my own art business, where I created and sold original paintings with film and horror themes. Later, I brought my passion for creativity into the classroom, teaching art and developing a film curriculum at an alternative high school in Philadelphia. This experience not only sharpened my project management skills but also deepened my perspective as an artist.
As the perpetual new kid, I’m driven by the desire to be a part of strong communities, where everyone is challenged and encouraged to reach their creative potential. My goal is to contribute to the creative process behind impactful films, enriching the ongoing dialogue between art and society by approaching each project with gumption and curiosity.
